The Fascinating Magnaga Waters

I was surprised with the development of my place, this place really attracts many people in the sorrounding places Everytime I'm in vacation we spent the holidays here with the family. So I had the time to see what this place has. This is short but bold information about this resort. (I am doin this for free, pero maningil ra ko kang Mayor Uy pag uli nako... :-) )

Just a 2-hour drive from Davao City's downtown. The resort has a "Bunsod", a cottage build on stilts 25 ft. above sea water that guarantees privacy for guests. Once you're in bunsod, its just waters surrounding you. Great place for snorkeling, diving, nude sun bathing, swimming (try their slides), and fishing.

The road to ComVal (Davao del Norte) is good, with a good view of the mountain range. The resort boasts of its house on stilts called "bunsod". You can ride a pumpboat (during hightide), swim (it will probably take you around 20 minutes) or ride a regular fisherman's boat (bangka) to get there. In the bunsod, you have a breathtaking view of Samal Island, and waters surrounding you. Its the best hideaway from the crowded city!

Magnaga Waters Beach Resort in Compostela Valley, is owned by Tagum City mayor Rey Uy.
For all type of seasons, take time to pack an overnight (or a whole weekend) bag and take your loved-ones for a dip in the sea or simply enjoy frolicking along the long white sands of Magnaga Waters.

The sprawling 13-hectare resort is well suited for families, providing a wide playground of soft white sand where kids can ran around barefoot or build sandcastles. The shoreline is fringed with talisay trees offering plenty of shade to tourists.Without doubt, the resort is an ideal place to just relax, enjoy and unwind with nothing to do but live in the sand, sun and water for the moment.

Sunsets at Magnaga, are just superb. Guests can spend the night in one of the resort's luxurious cottages, dormitory, in a tent by the sea or at the bungsod (cottage at the sea).

Room rates range from a dormitory good for 16 persons at P250 per person, cottages at P800 to P1,200 good for two, tent rental from P250-P350, or the bungsod, which could accomodate 50 for a rate of P300 per person. The resortt offers access to various activities like kayaking, fishing, boat rentals, billiard and pingpong, beach volleyball, and diving facilities.

It also offers amenities like a restaurant/fastfood, convention halls for meetings and conferences, lodge and cottages, open area for catering, videoke machines, catering services, souvenir shop, and a grocery store. For inquiries and reservations, feel free to contact Sammy or Nita at the following numbers: 0918-5754229, 084-218-1216, fax: 370-1986.Getting there:An hour and a half ride in a Mati-bound bus from Davao City can transport guests straight to Magnaga Waters resort.

  2. Magnaga beach down south of pantukan river in the early 1960 is use to be a hiding place for logs timber smuggled from big concessioner like manicor, daticor and the rest of other concessioner big time from maco. all the smugglers that i know are gone now but there is one settled in tagum venture another business. The whole area are owned by handfull of people, the Ezpeleta, Mendozas but he whole area before is owned by the gastons and Hughes in the 50s.Right infront of the beach, there is a fishhouse, those days we called it bentol, fish during the night with a lantern we called it petromax. Now is totally different setting, resort resort, happy happy. I dont know if its gonna be good or bad? but for one thing sure it will be a breeding place of the unknown breed of generation.
